Cham, Switzerland 03 Apr 2013 -- After signing a cooperation agreement with Austrian specialty paper manufacturer Brigl & Bergmeister in February, Cham Paper now initiated negotiations with Delfort Group on strategic options.

Cham Paper of Switzerland and Austrian company Delfort Group started negotiations on a possible cooperation in the field of specialty papers. Cham Paper said the managements of the two companies are currently examining strategic options in order to combine and strengthen their complementary position on the market for specialty paper. The company said that it expects to issue a statement on the outcome of the talks by the end of June this year at the latest.

Delfort Group produces and distributes specialty papers at five plants in Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Finland. It has a total workforce of around 1,750 employees and is family-run. Its product portfolio comprises cigarette and plugwrap paper, tipping base paper, thinprint, release base paper and electrical insulation paper.
