ANDRITZ to Supply the 30th Mechanical Pulping System
Comment Print

Graz, Austria 07 March 2017 -- In connection with the recently announced order from KAMA Karton LLC, Krasnokamsk, Russia, where ANDRITZ will supply a complete new folding box board production line, ANDRITZ's Pulping and Fiber Division is to supply a new BCTMP line and stock preparation line. The BCTMP line will be ANDRITZ's 30th mechanical pulping system installed worldwide and is to be based on its proven P-RC APMP technology for hardwoods, thus confirming ANDRITZ's strong global market position with references around the globe. Start-up of the complete KAMA production line is scheduled for the first quarter of 2019.

The new BCTMP line uses birch as raw material and has a design capacity of 395 admt/d. The high-efficiency mechanical pulping system begins with a chip washing system, a pre-steaming unit, and an impregnation system equipped with an MSD Impressafiner. It is followed by the first refining stage, comprising an ANDRITZ high-consistency S2070 refiner with a 15-MW drive, while the second stage will use a newly developed ANDRITZ low-consistency TwinFlo "Strong" refiner. In addition, the reject refining system will contain an ANDRITZ low-consistency TwinFlo refiner to ensure lowest energy consumption in combination with excellent pulp properties in both mainline and reject low-consistency refining.

ANDRITZ P-RC APMP technology with integrated bleaching stage right after the high-consistency refiner ensures highest brightness at minimum chemical charges. The low-consistency screening system features extremely low shive content in the final pulp, which will be dewatered on two ANDRITZ twin wire presses and a disc filter to guarantee excellent pulp washing and thickening.

State-of-the-art, low-energy ANDRITZ FibreSolve FSV pulping as well as the latest developments in low-consistency refining will be included in the ANDRITZ stock preparation system. In addition, the approach flow system is designed for three layers, each fitted with the compact ANDRITZ ShortFlow Blending System, low-consistency cleaning, and modern headbox screening. The broke system will also be part of the delivery together with the fiber recovery systems.
