CGW to Acquire Lacaux Frères


Wardrecques, France 04 April 2019 -- CGW strengthens its position on the corrugated packaging market in France. The company adds 60 million m² of corrugated board to its capacities by acquiring French company Lacaux Frères.

French corrugated packaging manufacturer Cartonneries de Gondardennes (CGW) plans to take over its competitor Lacaux Frères. The two companies announced they had signed a corresponding agreement. The transaction is expected to be completed in April.

Lacaux is an integrated producer of corrugated board and packaging. The company can annually produce up to 60 million m² of corrugated board as well as 40,000 tpy of recycled containerboard.

CGW also produces recycled containerboard as well as corrugated board and packaging. The company has capacities of 180,000 tpy of recycled corrugated case material and 300 million m² of corrugated board. CGW also operates four sheet plants.

With the transaction, a group with sales of €200m will be created, say the two companies.
